Who I am
My name is Maria Welch and I am asking for your vote. I am raising money for the Calvert County United Way. I am an active member of Jesus the Divine Word Parish in Huntingtown, MD. Some of the volunteer work I am involved in is to help school aged children with their reading skills, house the homeless during the winter months through the Safe Nights program, and as an assistant teacher in Faith Formation classes with our church. I am a stay-at-home mom but I have also been the single mom with two young children and not able to make ends meet. Thankfully, now I am at a point where I can help others and I hope you will assist me.
My largest fund raiser is a NEW YEAR'S EVE PARTY. Click on "Events" to find out more. I hope you will be able to join us.
**UPDATE: The New Year's Eve Party was a great success!! We had 80 guests and raised $6500.00 for the United Way. There are so many generous people in our county and they really stepped up to the plate. Much of the food was generously donated by Adams Ribs, Houligans, Heavenly Chicken, and Vince Ferrara catering. A good time was had by all!! Thank you so very much for your support.
